Reconstructing Eastern Motifs
Experimental illustration
Rooted in traditional Eastern patterns, the work fuses digital deconstruction with futuristic imagination to envision the rebirth of culture within a virtual context. Through a vivid interplay of high-saturation gradients and pixelated fragments, the once-symmetrical motifs evolve into fluid forms and dynamic information nodes—signifying the regeneration and transformation of tradition in the contemporary era.FuLuShouXiCai

With time passing and trends changing, few families still display traditional Chinese gods at home, such as the Five Gods: God of Fortune, God of Prosperity, God of Longevity, God of Joy and God of Wealth.Long ago, people hung pictures of these five gods at home. They stood for long life, wealth, high status, peace, comfort and a big happy family. All these mean good luck and well-being.Nowadays, hardly anyone keeps these god paintings at home. We need to protect, carry forward our traditional culture and build stronger national pride. We should not blindly love Western culture and only put Western artworks at home. That is why I create artworks of these old Chinese gods with gradient colors. This style makes our traditional culture look fashionable and easy for modern people to like.Chinese traditional culture can also be trendy. I hope more young people will inherit it and let it shine for more people.Traces of Life

The work draws on roots, branches, and earthen textures to explore the quiet force of natural growth. Organic forms extend across geometric fields and fractured boundaries, creating tension between imposed order and living instinct. Through rupture, layering, and open space, the image reveals growth as a continuous process of adaptation and transformation—rooted in darkness, reaching toward the unknown, and forming its own hidden order beyond prescribed limits.Illusory Order

The work draws on traditional dragon motifs, scrolling patterns, and botanical forms. Through deconstruction, recombination, and material transformation, these ancient motifs are released from fixed symmetry and repetition. Flowing curves, metallic light, and fluorescent colors overlap to create a visual space of continuous growth and transformation. Tradition is no longer preserved as a static symbol of the past, but reimagined as a living cultural language—generating new forms and possibilities between history and the future.
